County of Huron undertakes a Homelessness Enumeration Project and By-Name List.

Individuals experiencing homelessness, who would like to participate in the Enumeration Project and/or be added to the By-Name List, are encouraged to reach out, between November 29 and December 3, to any Huron County support agencies such as, Choices for Change, Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), or Ontario Works, or they can visit any Huron County Library branch, or call 519.525.5922.

Report recommends steps to address discrimination in Huron-Perth

Indigenous people, immigrants and visible minorities are more likely to experience discrimination than white, non-immigrant individuals in Huron and Perth Counties, a new research report has found. Dr. Natalia Lapshina, Dr. Victoria Esses and the Network for Economic and Social Trends of Western University conducted the research, in partnership with the Forum Research Inc. who administered a survey to 595 individuals in Huron and Perth Counties.

Huron County Library will eliminate overdue fines in 2022

The Huron County Library is very pleased to announce that starting Jan. 1, 2022, the library will no longer charge fines on overdue materials. All outstanding overdue fines will be forgiven effective Jan. 1, 2022. Fees will, however, continue to be charged for lost or damaged materials.
