County of Huron SLED Program Funding Opens for 2020 Applications

[Huron County, Ontario] – The County of Huron’s annual SLED (Supporting Local Economic Development) program launches this week, providing an opportunity for municipalities and other non-profits to receive funding for projects which target key regional economic development priorities in either workforce attraction, agriculture, tourism, or investment attraction.

Successful projects will be provided up to $10,000 through the SLED fund and must be completed within 12 months from the date of application.

Recipients of the SLED program funding are required to use funds in a way that has a clear and measurable economic impact, includes substantial private sector participation, and must provide financial resources and support to the project. Eligible projects must achieve at least one of the following objectives in Huron County:

  1. Grows the workforce;
  2. Creates diversification of the existing agricultural industry;
  3. Creates a visitor experience with clear best-in-class potential;
  4. Develops investment attraction material or resolves investment attraction issues; or
  5. Implements measures that support businesses communities in adapting to a changing business environment.

The program is delivered on a first come, first served basis, closing August 31, 2020.
